Focusing on Jobs

The top priority of the the Democratic caucus during the legislative session is jobs. Democrats understand that if they aren’t focused on jobs, they aren’t doing their job!

Our caucus understands that, thanks to Democratic leadership, Montana is in a much better economic place than most other states. We have one of the best tax climates in the country, our unemployment is low and we have a budget surplus. However, Democrats know this isn’t enough, and we must do more.

During the legislative session, Democrats will work together to create jobs with the values Montanans always embrace. We’ll make sure we’re living within our means. We’ll investi in opportunities for small businesses, family farms and ranches as well as opportunities for middle class families, veterans, children and seniors. We recognize that a strong public education system and access to quality, affordable health care are cornerstones to a strong economy. And while focusing on these things, we’ll make sure to respect the constitutional right to privacy that Montanans cherish.
